My Yogurt Addiction was started in September 2011 as way for me to share my passion for food, fitness and healthy living with anyone who wants to listen!
On this blog you will find links relating to recipes, exercise and lifestyle tips. Along with those, you’ll also see lots of fashion tips, random life shenanigans and some insight into my life as a model, runner, and full-time worker in corporate America.
If there is anything I want to make sure you know about me before you continue to read is that, I strive to maintain health and balance in my life by eating (mostly) healthy and exercising (as much as I can). I’m not a vegetarian or a vegan, nor do I follow any specific type of eating plan. I exercise on a regular basis because I like the way it makes me feel, and know that it good for my overall well-being.
Although health and fitness are a huge part of my life that I take very seriously, I also believe in enjoying life! Slip-ups happen, and there is no use in dwelling over them. The most important thing is to do the best that you can with the resources that you are provided with. I’m a huge advocate of the saying “something is better than nothing”, and truly believe that small changes can make a BIG difference!
What works for me, may not work for you and it doesn’t have to. By sharing my fitness tips and recipes I hope that I can inspire YOU to live YOUR best life!
About The Blogger
I grew up in an Italian household, in a suburb just outside Boston, MA. As a child, I remember my mother cooking real, wholesome and delicious meals almost everyday. I didn’t know it then, but this is where my initial love for healthy eating/living began. I realized that nourishing my body with healthy foods is what gives me the energy to get through my day.
I noticed the difference especially when I moved to college. Late night snacks and sub par dining hall food constantly left me sluggish, in a bad mood, and less than motivated to exercise.
Today I can only dream about being half the cook that my mom is, but I do try! I enjoy putting a healthy spin on a lot of classic dishes, as well as baking desserts that won’t make you feel that bad if you go for seconds!
I have been a tennis player since the age of 8. Playing a sport since a young age taught me not only how to be competitive and goal oriented, but also how to exercise in a way I found fun and enjoyable. I would play almost every day for 3-4 hours per day. I was dedicated and I wanted to be the best. I learned that this would not come only by practicing, I also had to cross train, lift weights, run, ladder drills etc.
Unfortunately I do not play tennis as much as I would like to these days, but have found other ways to exercise that bring me great happiness.
To sum it up, I enjoy running for several reasons, but I specifically love the challenge. I am not a natural-born runner. Running gives me a feeling that I am unable to achieve with any other workout, and allows me to accomplish things that I never thought were possible. When I run, I feel like NOTHING is impossible!
Career & Hobbies
I graduated in May of 2011 from a local university with a degree in Business Management. I’m glad to say that I love my job, and am hoping to return to school for a Master’s degree in the near future. Yes I am one of those nerds who actually enjoyed school and misses it terribly!
Aside from my normal 9-5 job, I also model part-time. Yes, you read that correctly, I am a healthy living blogger, who is also a model. Sounds like a little bit of a contradiction, doesn’t it?
Modeling is something I have been doing since I was a young teenager, and has grown to be part of who I am. Not all models are stick thin and deprive themselves of life’s greatest pleasures. Not me, anyway!
Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about modeling. I would love if this stereotype (and overall industry) would change its outlook on models, and how they are typically portrayed.
I am obsessed by a few things in life, the obvious being yogurt. (I swear I could eat this stuff for breakfast lunch and dinner, it’s just that good!) I LOVE Greek yogurt, plain yogurt, flavored yogurt and of course frozen yogurt!
My go to breakfast is a cup of 0% plain Chobani yogurt, with some sort of “fix-in” (i.e: Flax, fruit, chia etc…) It fills me up, it’s packed with protein and its delicious!
I am also crazy for any type of nuts, dark chocolate, banana chips, coffee, figs, sushi, peanut butter, and cottage cheese. Very random list, I know but that’s just the kind of girl I am! Oh ya, I also have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with my puggle named Santo.
