New Hair with a Flair

Aside from a few slight color changes here and there, it’s safe to say that I’ve been rocking the same exact hairstyle for quite sometime now.

Despite my very own mother being a hairdresser, I just haven’t had much urge to drastically change my hairstyle, until NOW!

I am typically more of a “stick to what I know” and “if it’s not broken don’t fix it” kind of girl, but I do tend to get bored with almost everything at some point, and right now it happens to be my hair.

Of course there’s that moment that follows almost every drastic haircut. Sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it can take days or weeks, but typically it looks something like this.

Yes it’s called haircut remorse.

Did I really just chop off 5+ inches off the top of my hair?! Why? What a dumb idea!

Initially I loved the idea of bangs, and I still do! It’s just going to take some getting used to and extra time to style.

I’m excited to experiment with new products and hairstyle ideas. And let’s be serious, they are just bangs, and it is just hair. It’s not like a cut length (that would be going too far!). In a few months it will be grown out, and I’ll be able to push them to the side if I like. Or maybe I’ll keep them, who knows?

What I do know is that change is good.

It is very easy to get stuck in a rut by shopping at the same stores, wearing the same clothes and participating in the same exact routine everyday.

Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely a creature of habit. I like to feel safe and secure, but I know that sticking to a “comfort-zone” can interfere with full potential, success and growth as a person.

Imagine if you chose to crawl all your life because the risk of standing on your own two feet was too scary. Some people live their whole lives like this!

Different is good! Be adventurous, change your style or find a new hobby. Don’t let old habits determine how you live your life today–mix it up and have some fun!

Did you ever experience haircut remorse?

What do you do when you find yourself in a rut?

  1. I had blunt bangs before, they are so fun! They can get a little annoying when you have to pin them back for working out, but besides that I think they are pretty easy to style, and super flattering. You look stunning as always Stellina!

Aw you are so sweet! Yes I experienced the pinning back while working out yesterday! I think I will invest in some more headbands! Haha

  2. I love it!!! I’m always so afraid to try bangs but yours came out SO GOOD! I always want to switch things up but I know I’ll regret it later so I’ve decided it’s better to just keep it the same and trim it every time.

  3. I like your bangs! I have had so many bad hair cuts its impossible not to have had remorse about some of them :P

  4. Hi Stellina! Oh man, I think you look gorgeous with the bangs in the middle~it suits your facial shape and all that good stuff. :) I tend to not change my hair too drastically and usually play it differently with my bangs, but with everything else in life I need to change things all the time! Of course, that doesn’t include relationships nor my husband. Now, that wouldn’t be good, haha.

  5. I absolutely LOVE this new hair style. It’s fresh and so stylish! I’m not going to lie, I’m a creature of habit too, but think that every once in awhile you’ve just got to go for it! I typically change the length of my hair every once in awhile, purely out of frustration though for it getting to long. I haven’t done the bangs thing yet, but maybe now I’ll *think* about it :)

First of all I miss you! Second of all, totally think about it! Just have her keep them on the long side so that if you don’t like them, you can easily pull them back or to the side in a months time :)

  6. love the new haircut!!
we hope to do some coloring to our hair here soon for something different :)
