Aside from a few slight color changes here and there, it’s safe to say that I’ve been rocking the same exact hairstyle for quite sometime now.
Despite my very own mother being a hairdresser, I just haven’t had much urge to drastically change my hairstyle, until NOW!
I am typically more of a “stick to what I know” and “if it’s not broken don’t fix it” kind of girl, but I do tend to get bored with almost everything at some point, and right now it happens to be my hair.
Of course there’s that moment that follows almost every drastic haircut. Sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it can take days or weeks, but typically it looks something like this.
Yes it’s called haircut remorse.
Did I really just chop off 5+ inches off the top of my hair?! Why? What a dumb idea!
Initially I loved the idea of bangs, and I still do! It’s just going to take some getting used to and extra time to style.
I’m excited to experiment with new products and hairstyle ideas. And let’s be serious, they are just bangs, and it is just hair. It’s not like a cut length (that would be going too far!). In a few months it will be grown out, and I’ll be able to push them to the side if I like. Or maybe I’ll keep them, who knows?
What I do know is that change is good.
It is very easy to get stuck in a rut by shopping at the same stores, wearing the same clothes and participating in the same exact routine everyday.
Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely a creature of habit. I like to feel safe and secure, but I know that sticking to a “comfort-zone” can interfere with full potential, success and growth as a person.
Imagine if you chose to crawl all your life because the risk of standing on your own two feet was too scary. Some people live their whole lives like this!
Different is good! Be adventurous, change your style or find a new hobby. Don’t let old habits determine how you live your life today–mix it up and have some fun!
