Hello!
I could not let this day pass without writing a little love note to all of my readers. Yes that’s YOU! Thank you SO much for being a part of My Yogurt Addiction. Thank you for reading, tweeting, following, challenging my ideas, asking questions and most of all for being YOU!

Valentine’s Day is known as the holiday of love. The holiday that society deems as the one day a year that we are supposed to show our affection for those we care deeply for.
One side of me agrees with society and wants to conform to generalized view that has been created for us. The other side of me questions how this “Hallmark Holiday” view came about in the first place, and what all the hype is about?
Of course I’ll take any excuse to go out, but on Valentine’s day I’d rather show my appreciation for the people I love by doing small intimate things, instead of some extravagant night out, or spending tons of money on gifts (we’ll leave that for the birthday’s and anniversaries.)
Sure, it is nice to celebrate love by offering gifts, but if you really truly love someone, shouldn’t you show or tell them everyday? Not just on Valentine’s Day?
We live in a hectic world, and sometimes we take for granted the people that we care deeply for. I feel that Valentine’s Day should be thought of as more of a reminder to show our love more often, instead of the one day a year where we MUST express our love.
Remember, Valentine’s Day is not just about your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife. Valentine’s day is about showing your appreciation and gratitude for anyone you love or care for, including yourself.
One can never fully love another unless they first learn to love an accept themselves.
This Valentine’s Day, show your friends, family and significant others that you love and appreciate them, but also remember to take this day to love and appreciate yourself.

I like your thoughts on Valentines day. Since it’s about celebrating with the ones you love, a small gathering just seems so much more meaningful than going out with a million other people. We remember the special moments more than the big expensive presents, anyways

sooo true Stellina!! While it’s fun to celebrate, it’s also important to remember what this holiday is really about! I’m going all out with the self-love and family love this year by going to yoga with my mom, and then pampering myself tonight with a bubble bath!

Totally agree!
Great post! It is so important to remember that showing love does not equal spending a ton of money. I also love your reminder to LOVE OURSELVES on VDay, too!

So beautifully stated! I think it’s great there is a day when we actually stop and think about love in the overall sense, for those that forget. But again, it should be a daily ritual, not just recognized once a year.

Happy Valentines Day to you!!
My boyfriend & I have a yearly tradition on this day… going to McDonalds. I’m not kidding you, it may sound lame but I think it’s kinda cute. Perhaps I should call ahead and see if they take Valentines Day reservations? HAHAHA…. Oh I’m crying laughing. (I think I’m funny, clearly..)
