So we have A LOT to catch up on. I figured we’d just hit the ground running with this post since I am so excited to share with you my first recap of the Healthy Living Summit! Sound good? Great!
This was the first time I attended the Healthy Living Summit, or any blogging/healthy living conference for that matter. I arrived at the Hyatt Regency around 2:30 for early registration. Once I checked in, I was pointed in a different direction where I was handed my swag bag and a free pair of Reebok sneakers! I absolutely love the color that I got and everything else about this shoe. It was cute and comfortable! How can you go wrong?
Also, check out all of the swag in my bag! The swag bag was stuffed with everything from cookies, pretzels, chap stick, cereal, granola bars, energy drinks and much more. I cannot wait to try all of these products, and see which ones I like best. I’ve already got my eyes on testing out the Dancing Deer Fruit and Nut Squares very soon!
Soon after I was handed my swag bag, I headed over to the first session of the conference which was called “Kicken of #HLS12 with Greatist & Blogging Workshop Open Hours” with Derek from Greatist. I frequent the Greatist website often, so I was very excited and interested in hearing what Derek had to offer. Some of the main points that I took away from this sessions were to
- Stay true to your voice
- Invest time and maybe money on your blog design
- Try to make your blog as authentic as possible
- Ask for feedback from readers
The Greatist session ended around 4:00 so that meant I had about 3 hours until the cocktail party began. Since I did not stay at the hotel (I live only 20 mins away), I decided to tag along with some bloggers who were going for a tour/walk around the city. Although I already know a lot about Boston, and how to navigate around (for the most part), it was still super fun to walk around with bloggers who had never been to town before. It was also nice to squeeze in a “light” workout before attending the cocktail party. Hey, a 4 mile walk, is a 4 mile walk!

Once I arrived back at the hotel, Rachael was nice enough to let me get ready in her room. We got all gussied up and ready for the cocktail party within an hour! Talk about productive
The cocktail party took place in a nearby tent that was part of the hotel. ReBootizer sponsored the cocktail party and I think they did a fantastic job! We were all given one drink ticket at the start of the night, and also provided with some great “munchie” type appetizers to pick on throughout the night.
The rest of the night was spent meeting and mingling with some great women. I got to meet Courtney from Sweet Tooth Sweet Life, which is one of my favorite blogs. Isn’t she just stunning?
Oh ya, did I mention that there was a photo booth too? Obviously I had to participate!
The cocktail party ended around 10pm but I left at 9:45 in order to get enough sleep for the next days festivities. Stay tuned for Recap #2!
Did you go to HLS12? What was your favorite part?
